International Baccalaureate(IB)
The Escola Cristã Genebra offers an education that integrates academic excellence, Christian values, and international training. As a candidate for the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Brazil, it aims to prepare students for the challenges of higher education and a globalized life.
What is the International Baccalaureate (IB)?
Founded in 1968, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a global non-profit organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, offering rigorous and comprehensive educational programs for students of various age groups. The IB is widely recognized for promoting an international education that combines academic excellence, personal skill development, and the cultivation of a global mindset.
The mission of the IB is to develop curious, reflective, and responsible young people who are prepared to face the complex challenges of the modern world with knowledge, ethics, and empathy.
The Implementation of IB at Geneva Christian School
Geneva Christian School, with only four years of existence, has already established itself as an innovative institution, committed to offering an excellent trilingual education with a solid academic foundation and Christian principles. By becoming a candidate for the implementation of the IB in Brazil, the school reaffirms its mission to prepare students for a globalized future.
The Diploma Programme (DP) is the main highlight of the IB proposal for the high school at Geneva Christian School. This program offers a balanced and comprehensive education, enabling students to think critically and understand different cultures.
Escola Cristã Genebra (ECG) is a Candidate School* for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy — a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that ECG believes is important for our students.
* Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
